Engineering Design to Maintenance

253. Does the CMMS manage all engineering changes to each asset throughout its lifecycle?
Comprehensive (i.e., tracks all major and minor revisions to an asset from the 'as designed', to 'as installed', to 'as modified' throughout its life; tracks temporary and permanent changes; tracks changes to the configuration of assets; identifies affected parent/child equipment, affected documents, and objects such as active work orders that are affected by the change; manages the change process from start to finish, synchronizing all affected activities for data integrity)

254. Does the CMMS provide design estimation capability for managing the smooth transition of capital projects and new construction through to the maintenance phase?
Comprehensive (i.e., develop initial estimates including all materials, resources, permits, contracts, and other costs; integration from the design estimate to the work order, for tracking and analyzing the 'as designed' versus the 'as planned' versus the 'as built' variances; integration with graphic design and engineering tools; integration with materials catalogue and e-procurement module for estimating material costs; integration with asset lifecycle accounting)

255. Does the CMMS track specific lifecycle elements for a given asset?
Comprehensive (ie, number of refurbishments, number of overhauls, elapsed time, user-defined meter readings such as hours of operation, Remaining Useful Life (RUL) based on cycle counts and other aging factors [eg, an asset will be scrapped after two refurbishments or overhauls, so if the first lifecycle milestone has passed, then RUL = 1 cycle and the next work plan will be for replacement not refurb/overhaul])

256. Does the CMMS provide in graphic and/or tabular form an asset lifecycle curve for a given asset or component?
Comprehensive (ie, graph/table shows degradation of the condition of the asset over time, points at which minor and major failures are likely to occur, point at which catastrophic failure or end of useful life is likely to occur, points at which inspections are planned, points at which major and minor maintenance are planned for use-based maintenance and forecasted for condition-based maintenance, points at which major and minor fail-based maintenance repairs are forecasted, actual versus planned for the above, aging factors contributing to actual versus planned variances)
